Shailesh Vara MP recently visited Stanground fire station where he toured the station and met with the firefighters of Green Watch.

Those Mr Vara met included George White who is the regional representative for Cambridgeshire’s Fire Brigade Union, and the two discussed a number of issues including future funding for the service.

Following the visit Mr Vara said:

“I was very pleased to have the opportunity to meet Mr White and his colleagues and have a tour of the station.

“Our firefighters do a wonderful a job, often in very difficult and dangerous circumstances. They are brave individuals who are dedicated and committed to serving the community and they do this exceptionally well.”
