Shailesh Vara, Member of Parliament for North West Cambridgeshire attended the Wyton on the Hill Fete held last Saturday on 3rd September 2011. Also attending were the Deputy Lord Lieutenant and County Councillor Victor Lucas, who opened the fete and Huntingdonshire District Councillor Robin Howe.

The fete was organised by the new Wyton on the Hill Parish Council, whose chairman is Noel Baker. With the support of the men and women of Royal Air Force Wyton, there were a range of activities and stalls on the day. These included bouncy castles, dog agility trials and sports events, amongst others.

Mr Vara joined in with the fun and was persuaded to try out some archery.

Following the event, Mr Vara said: -

“This was a successful afternoon, well attended and with a variety of attractions providing enjoyment for all those who attended. The bouncy castles certainly kept the children happy! Congratulations to all those involved who put in a tremendous amount of hard work and made the event such a success.”

Mr Noel Baker, Chairman of the Wyton on the Hill Parish Council said: -

“Being the first ever show on this Estate it was well attended by the residents and very much appreciated and it is hoped it will now be an Annual Event and bigger and better in the future!”
