Vara visits Ramsey Neighbourhoods Trust

Shailesh Vara MP recently visited the Ramsey Neighbourhoods Trust in Ramsey, Huntingdonshire, and met with key members of the Trust’s team.

The Trust works to improve the lives of local residents through community engagement and seeks to strengthen and develop communities whilst promoting active citizenship. The Trust also supports residents to become involved in local decision-making with a view to improving their quality of life and works to reduce inequality between the most and least deprived neighbourhoods.

Following the visit, Mr Vara said:

“I was very pleased to meet the Trust’s team and to hear of some of the innovative schemes they have carried out locally on issues such as transport, employment and facilities for young people.

The importance of voluntary groups, such as the Ramsey Neighbourhoods Trust, must not be underestimated. I was very impressed with both the drive and commitment of the people involved.

I wish the Trust every success for the future.”

Val Fendley, Programme Manager at the Ramsey Neighbourhoods Trust commented:

“Ramsey Neighbourhoods Trust was delighted to welcome our MP, Shailesh Vara, to the neighbourhood office. We appreciated the time taken to link in with us at this busy time of year and the support offered to our community projects during 2017".
