Shailesh Vara, Member of Parliament for North West Cambridgeshire, recently visited Ramsey Abbey College and met with Headteacher, Mr Wayne Birks, Chair of Governors, Mrs Madeleine Jackson, and pupils at the school. Mr Vara had a tour of the premises and also spent time with the pupils, who explained to him some initiatives regarding behaviour and work in the school. The visit concluded with a Question and Answer session.

Mr Vara said:

“I remain impressed with the quality of education provided by Ramsey Abbey College and was very interested by the presentations made by the pupils regarding how the school operates. The school has some innovative schemes and it is good to see that they are meeting with considerable success. And, as always, there were some challenging questions from the pupils on a variety of different issues.”

Wayne Birks, Headteacher of Ramsey Abbey College said:

“Abbey College students were delighted to welcome Shailesh on his recent visit and have the opportunity to speak to their representative in Parliament. During the two hour visit, students were able to brief Shailesh on the latest policy developments at Abbey which have contributed to improvements in behaviour, work ethic and achievement.”
