Vara visits of expanding care company

Shailesh Vara, Member of Parliament for North West Cambridgeshire, last Friday attended the new offices of local care company Home Instead Senior Care and officially declared the new premises open.

Home Instead Senior Care is a new company, having only been formed two years ago, and works to provide elderly home care in the local area. In the short space of time the company has been trading, it already employs 40 people and is keen to raise awareness of elderly issues in Peterborough and the surrounding areas. The rapid expansion of the company has led to the need to move to new premises in Cygnet Park in Hampton, Peterborough.

Mr Vara met with the directors of the company, Philip and Amy Kennedy along with some of their senior staff covering a broad range of the company’s activities.

Mr Vara said:
“I was delighted to officially open Home Instead Senior Care’s new offices. The company provides an important local service and is a real success story, having gone from a start-up business to becoming a strong employer of 40 people within 2 years.

“Care for older members of our society becomes more important by the day and to be able to provide care for people in a setting they are comfortable in, such as their own home, is a very positive and welcome alternative to other types of elderly care.”

Amy Kennedy, Director of Home Instead Senior Care commented:
“We are absolutely delighted to be welcoming Mr Vara today to mark our 2nd birthday & new office opening. The organisation has come on leaps and bounds, particularly in the last year or so as clients and community signposting organisations are really starting to see the benefits of our uncompromising focus on first class care and service. People are also finally starting to understand that 15 minute care visits do not allow people to receive the care and support they need and that our minimum visiting time of one hour allows people to develop relationships and give our clients the companionship they really want. We are also excited to announce that we are on target to creating 40 jobs this year in the local community, creating opportunities for people to undertake further training and qualifications in health and social care.”
