Shailesh Vara, Member of Parliament for North West Cambridgeshire, will tomorrow be visiting Sawtry Community College to discuss funding with Mr Alan Stevens, Associate Principal of the College.

The College was recently unsuccessful in its application for Capital and Maintenance Funding and Mr Vara will be discussing the matter with Mr Stevens as well as touring parts of the College where maintenance funding is required.

Mr Vara is supporting the College’s application for further funding and has written to Mr Peter Lauener, Chief Executive of the Education Funding Agency, asking him to review the College’s application.

Mr Vara said:

“Following my discussions with Mr Alan Stevens, I have written to the Chief Executive of the Education Funding Agency asking if the College’s application for funding can be re-considered. The funds would certainly make a big difference to the College and I hope the outcome will be a successful one.”
