Shailesh Vara MP recently visited the newly refurbished Whittle Public House in Central Square, Stanground, following an extensive refurbishment programme.

The Whittle has undergone a £200,000 programme of work, with the money having been put in by Alfreton Pubs Ltd and Punch Taverns. Mr Vara was very impressed with the facilities and was asked to ‘pull a pint’ behind the bar, which he was very happy to do.

Mr Vara said:
“It was a great pleasure visiting The Whittle. A huge amount of investment has been put in and a lot of work carried out. I am particularly pleased that the pub aims to look after all age groups.”
