Shailesh Vara, Member of Parliament for North West Cambridgeshire, opened the Ramsey Golf and Bowls Club’s newly refurbished Clubhouse at an event on Saturday 14th May.

The Golf and Bowls Club, established in 1965 and currently with over 600 members, recently completed successful refurbishment works to its Clubhouse with a large percentage of the work carried out by local tradesmen, including many members of the club.

At the opening, Mr Vara met with the Club’s President, Lord de Ramsey, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr David Roberts, the Club Captain, Mr Tony Clyne and the Lady Captain, Mrs Frances Clyne, along with other Board Directors and Club Members.

Mr Vara said:
“I am delighted to be opening the new Clubhouse. The refurbishment is to a very high standard and it is good news that so many local tradesmen were involved in the work, helping the economy locally. The refurbishment is a great credit to the efforts of all those involved and will be much appreciated by members and visitors alike. The work will be appreciated by a lot of people for years to come.”

Mr Roberts also said:
“I am absolutely delighted with the quality of the workmanship and the transformation of the Club. The work carried out by local trades’ people was on time and within budget. We have received very complimentary comments and positive feedback from members, members’ guests and visitors. This refurbishment now stands side by side with our highly rated golf course and bowls green. We welcome visitors who would like to sample our golf course and enjoy the facilities of the 19th hole.”
