Shailesh Vara, Member of Parliament for North West Cambridgeshire will unveil a plaque to commemorate the opening of the newly refurbished buildings at Great Gidding Primary School on Friday 21st October.

The ceremony will also be a celebration of the school’s third ‘outstanding’ rate from OfSTED.

Mr Vara said:

"I am delighted to have been asked to unveil the plaque to commemorate the official opening of these newly refurbished buildings. The building work was very much needed in order to upgrade the original Victorian buildings and will be a great asset to the school.

Much work has been put in by a lot of people to make this possible and I congratulate them in their dedication and hard work.”

Mrs Alex Chambers, Head Teacher of Great Gidding Primary School said:

“I am thrilled with the refurbished facilities that have now been provided for our school, particularly the redevelopment of our outdoor learning areas, which enable us to deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences to all our pupils.

We aspire to grow and continually develop as a community while maintaining the family ethos that is at the heart of our school. Great Gidding is a very special school, extremely well supported by a dedicated team of staff, governors and parents, and I am very proud and privileged to be the head teacher here.”

The opening ceremony is on Friday 21st October at Great Gidding Primary School at 10:30am.
