Shailesh Vara MP met with members of the National Farmers Union (NFU) Peterborough Branch last Friday, 18th July 2014.

Mr Vara met with the farmers to discuss a number of issues including, amongst others: reform of the Common Agricultural Policy, use of pesticides, rural crime and bovine tuberculosis.

Mr Vara said:
“I greatly value my meetings with members of the local farming community. The NFU Peterborough Branch plays an important role for farmers and I am grateful to them for having organised this meeting. The work that farmers do on a daily basis is vital to our country, both in terms of feeding the nation and in contributing to our economy, and it is important that their views are properly relayed to the relevant ministers in DEFRA.”
