Shailesh Vara MP organised a very successful Cambridgeshire Food and Drink event which took place today in the House of Commons. The event promoted produce from around the County including ales, cider, bread, cakes, meat products and olive oils.

The aim of the event was to support and promote local producers so that they could showcase some of their products in Parliament. As well as local MPs supporting the event it also attracted support from various other Parliamentarians from around the country as well as their staff.

Following the event Mr Vara said:

‘‘Cambridgeshire has some great food and drink producers and it was good that they were able to come to Parliament and showcase their products. This was a fantastic opportunity to display some of the best Cambridgeshire has to offer and it was certainly a very successful and well attended event. I am grateful to my fellow local MPs as well as all the local producers who helped to make it such a memorable event’’
