Shailesh Vara, Member of Parliament for North West Cambridgeshire, has congratulated Peterborough City Council on a national award it has received for the extension of Hampton College.

The Council, along with its construction partner Kier, has been awarded the LHC Framework award for the speed in which the College’s extension was completed, along with it being within budget.

Hampton College now has a gym, sixth form study area and classrooms for lessons including science, ICT and design and technology. Moreover, an additional 450 school places have been created which is excellent news for local families.

Mr Vara said: -
“This is excellent news and I am delighted that Peterborough City Council, along with its construction partner Kier, has won the LHC Framework award for its work in extending Hampton College. This award is testament to the hard work that the Council has put in to improving educational facilities in the city for the years ahead.

“I am also very pleased that a teaching establishment like Hampton College now has the opportunity to serve the largest growing community in Peterborough with top class facilities, and that an additional 450 places have been created at the College which will certainly be welcome news to local residents.”
