Shailesh Vara MP will tomorrow host the Cambridgeshire Food and Drink Day in the Jubilee Room of the House of Commons.

The event will showcase some of the County’s local food and drink, such as The Old Fashioned Pudding Company, Corkers Crisps and Pickled Pig Cider, and is being organised with assistance from Jeremy Staples, Chief Executive of the East of England Agricultural Society.

All Members of Parliament and their staff have been invited, and it is expected that hundreds of people will attend.

Mr Vara said:

“Cambridgeshire is a great County with excellent locally produced food and drink. All of the County’s Members of Parliament are supporting the event and I am hugely grateful to Jeremy Staples for all the help he has provided to prepare for the day.

This is an excellent opportunity to promote the best of Cambridgeshire’s food and drink to people from many parts of Britain.”

Mr Staples added: -

“We are delighted to have helped Shailesh put together this event, which will allow some of the first class Cambridgeshire food and drink producers to display their products in the House of Commons. A number of the companies are regular suppliers of our Showground and the others are examples of the wide range of producers within the County.”
