Shailesh Vara MP today officially opened Matley Post Office in Orton Brimbles, Peterborough. Also present at the opening were Deputy Mayor Cllr John Fox, Cllrs June Stokes and Gavin Elsey.

The Post Office will be situated in a Londis store run by Subramanian Nithythasan and his family and it will be open 7 days a week for a total of 81hours.

The new services are a welcome addition to the amenities available to the local community.

Following his visit, Mr Vara said:

“I was very pleased to officially open Matley Post Office today. Much credit is due to Mr Subramanian Nithythasan and his family for taking on this new venture in the family run Londis store.

The Post Office will be a welcome addition to the area providing a range of services for the local community.”
