Send My Friend to School campaign

4th July 2019

Shailesh Vara MP recently met Libby Wilson and Eva Woods, students from Nene Park Academy, in support of the Send My Friend to School Campaign.

The campaign is a coalition of international development NGOs, teachers’ unions and charities which brings together young people, politicians, teachers and the media to unlock education for all children across the globe.

Access to education is not yet a level playing field and children across the world face unfair treatment simply because of who they are and where they live.

Mr Vara first learned of the campaign when he met Libby and Eva during a visit to their school earlier this year and was impressed by their passion and commitment to the project.

Mr Vara said:

“It was great to see Libby and Eva again and hear how they continue to spread this important message.

Education is a fundamental right, providing children with stability and a path out of poverty and I very much look forward to continuing to work with Libby and Eva in the future.”
