Vara visits Peterborough City Hospital

Shailesh Vara, Member of Parliament for North West Cambridgeshire will visit Peterborough City Hospital on Friday 2nd March.

Mr Vara will be having talks with Nigel Hards, Chairman of Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and Louise Barnett, Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development and former Interim Chief Executive.

He will be discussing a number of issues particularly regarding to the financial position of the hospital and ways of resolving the problem. He will also visit the hospital’s Accident and Emergency Department.

Mr Vara said:

“Clearly the hospital is in a very difficult financial position and it is vital that matters are resolved urgently. The financial position of the hospital will be at the top of my agenda for discussions and I am keen to explore ways of ensuring the future financial security of the hospital.”
